Made for Sari and Clifford Christhas 2012 - Peaceful Pathways - Another Esther Aliu BOM -

This Quilt was designed to be a Red and White Quilt - I decided to make it for my daughter Sari and her husband Clifford.  They have a Gooseneck Horse trailer that they camp in when they go to Roping events etc. It is very nice inside and I thought that a Cream and Brown country look quilt would look good on the bed.

I called the quilt "Love is.." because it has the beatitudes embroidered around one border.

There was a lot of machine piecing - some applique - and some machine and hand embroidery.  I had the top pieced but not quilted and I gave it to them for Christmas 2011. - I took it home with me after Christmas and gave it to them again in 2012 (after it was quilted).

They decided it was too nice to be in their Gooseneck and decided to have it on their bed.

I am glad that they both really liked it enough for that.

In The Pink Made for Katie and Designed by Esther Aliu

I started making this mystery quilt which was offered
as a free BOM on line by EstherAliu  -
I bought the fabrics on line.  I wasn't happy
with the green and would have changed it
if I could.; But some people say that it
makes it Zing.

When it was finished I decided that it was to be for my Dear Grand Daughter Katie.
-

I had it quilted by Annette Kelly in Home Hill Queensland.  I was very happy with her quilting and as usual she did it in a short time for me - I'm afraid - When I decide to get a quilt professionally quilted
I am always needing it in a hurry!!!

Wedding quilt for Merrin and Cameron

After being so pleased with the Mystery Quilt I made for Thomas's birthday - I decided to make it larger for a Wedding Quilt for Cameron and Merrin.
The logs in the original Quilt were only 1" wide and I increased the size to 2.5" (I think).  Anyway it made it into a good size quilt.
They chose the colours of blue and yellow;

18th Birthday Quilt for 7th Grandson Thomas Dungavell

I joined a Mystery Quilt with The Virtual Quilter, Judy Butcher and made this quilt -

I decided the colours made it a good boy's quilt so decided to give it to Thomas for his 18th Birthday in October 2010.

I like to make suitable labels for my quilts and thought that this one was just right for 18 year old Thomas.

JARED'S BIRTHDAY QUILT MADE FROM MY CHRISTMAS GIFT

My Grandson No 2, is Jared Naughton. He gave me a Quilt kit that he bought from Spotlight for me for Christmas - I was so thrilled it was such a thoughtful gift from a 30 year old boy -

It had all of the fabrics included and a pattern to make a very simple quilt - just 6" squares joined together. I thought that this was too simple and didn't pose any sort of challenge.

I made a new design - by making 4 Bethlehem stars and then using up most of the left overs for sashing and then the last of the left overs joined up to bind it - I had nary a square inch left over.

It is hand quilted and I gave it back to Jared for his 31st Birthday in May 2013

REMEMBER IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE

I made this quilt for Graham's Aunty, Beth Morrison for her 80th Birthday last month.  We travelled to Brisbane to celebrate with her and her family, Marjorie, Cameron and Merrin. We had a lovely stay with Marjorie at her lovely home.

The pattern for this really great wall hanging/throw was designed by Pat Sloan at www.quiltershome.com  She very generously provided the pattern as a free download.

I knew that Beth would enjoy the funny side of it.  She does love it and shows it to all and sundry.
